The action of Frances Burnett's novel "The Little Princess: The Adventures of Sarah Crewe" takes place at the end of the 19th century in England. Captain Crewe brings his little daughter Sarah from India and sends her to study at a boarding school for girls. The headmistress Miss Minchin immediately disliked the new pupil, but is forced to hide her dislike, since Sarah's father is very rich, and such a pupil is beneficial for the boarding house. When news arrives of the sudden death of Captain Crewe and his ruin, Miss Minchin gives vent to her anger. But good always triumphs. Sarah endures her trials with dignity, and at the end of the story she finds a patron in the person of a friend of her deceased father. A rich inheritance also returns to her.
This novel is included in the world TOP 100 books.
