About this app

Using the Usury Calculator, you can easily check whether the offer of a bank loan, "payday loans" in a loan company or installment purchase in a store meet the relevant requirements.

The usury calculator will calculate whether the offer complies with the proposed new law (Note! The new law has not yet entered into force! Calculator calculations show compliance or not with the law, which will not apply until the future!). After the new anti-usury regulations prepared by the Ministry of Justice enter into force, the calculator will suggest whether the loan the consumer wants to take out is usury or an offer permitted by law. Today - when the new law is not yet in force - it will help to learn about the planned changes.

The Usury Calculator is very simple to use. Enter from whom you are borrowing money in the calculator - there are three options: natural person, loan company, bank / installment purchase. Then enter the amount you borrow (in the case of an installment purchase, it will be the price of the product or service), how often you have to pay the installments (select: in weeks or months) and how many installments you have to pay. Ask your lender for the total amount of all additional costs, fees and insurance, and - separately - the amount of interest. Enter this data as well. Then press the "calculate" icon and the calculator will assess whether the offer complies with the proposed law.

Attention! The usury calculator does not assess the profitability of the offer or compares the offers, it only shows whether the proposed conditions will not be usury in the understanding of the law that is yet to come into force.
The Ministry of Justice has taken up the fight against usury, i.e. loans with drastically overstated interest and other fees. The lenders of such loans are often tempted with low or even zero interest, when the real cost of the loan is hidden in various kinds of very high additional fees, insurance, premiums, etc. This pathology will end with the law prepared in the Ministry of Justice. Changes in the law are to effectively protect Poles against the scourge of moneylenders and abuses of loan companies. They are to put an end to taking advantage of the ignorance and trust of customers. They are to end the swindlers of poverty and the tragedies of people who are forced to take out loans at usury rates.

The new regulations end with the freedom to set additional payments for purchases in installments. It will no longer be possible to add unlimited commissions, margins, application fees or compulsory insurance, which leads to a situation that unaware customers are often unable to repay the allegedly attractively interest-bearing loan.
