About this game

A viral outbreak has ravaged the world for over a year now. This must never happen again. Vaccines provide personal immunity and are tested extensively to prove they work. Social measures can stem the tide of a pandemic and help us move towards herd immunity, but they should be tested too. To do just that, welcome to Transmission Control.

Transmission Control is a pandemic defense simulator that gives you a realistic feel for the challenge of fighting a global outbreak.

Play 5 preset modes of increasing difficulty or change 30 editable parameters to fine-tune your experience and mimic many possible outbreak scenarios, including the current pandemic.

You have five tools at your disposal- testing, contact tracing, quarantine, lockdown, and hospital care. Employ known government strategies or come up with your own in an attempt to prevent loss of life or unsustainable economic cost.

Detailed statistics at the end of each round help you to compare the effectiveness of different social strategies.

Good luck and stay strong!

Game-Play:
- Every round begins with a fixed population of robots spread randomly across the screen, with each robot moving at a random speed and in a random direction.

- One or more robots will already be infected at the start of each round and will have a chance to pass on the infection every time they collide with an uninfected robot.

- Robots will not show any outward sign of infection unless they test positive or they manifest visible symptoms, which can be mild or severe.

- Robots may also occasionally show symptoms for diseases that are similar to the pandemic but are not infectious. These are often indistinguishable without testing.

- Robots under quarantine or lockdown do not move and have lower chances of spreading the disease upon contact.

- Severely ill robots must receive medical care or else they will succumb to the pandemic and be removed from the screen.

- Robots under quarantine, in lockdown, in the hospital, or that have died each contribute 1 point to economic cost per day.

- The round ends automatically (if set to 'Auto End') when the last active case recovers or passes away.

- At the end of each round a page will appear with detailed statistics about the pandemic and the countermeasures taken.

Quarantine - Double tap any robot to put it in to or out of quarantine. Tap ‘Unseal’ to release all quarantined robots.

Lockdown - Tap the 'Lock' button to request social distancing from the population and thereby halt large numbers at once. Tap ‘Unlock’ to end the lockdown.

Hospitalization - Drag any infected or critically ill robot to any of the three corners farthest from it to put it in the hospital and temporarily remove it from the screen.
