Usool Al Hadith

Usool al-Hadith, also known as the Science of Hadith or Hadith Methodology, is a branch of Islamic scholarship that deals with the principles and methodologies used in the authentication, study, and classification of Hadith, the sayings, actions, and approvals of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The preservation and transmission of Hadith are crucial for Muslims since they provide valuable guidance and insights into the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. However, due to the passing of time and the oral transmission of Hadith initially, there arose a need for a systematic approach to verify and differentiate between authentic (Sahih) and weak (Da'if) Hadith to ensure their accuracy and reliability.
