About this app

Purple is the name given to the color with the shortest wavelength, closer to blue in the electromagnetic spectrum. Purple is an intermediate and cool color. Its opposite color is orange, which is the color with the highest frequency.

Although violet resembles magenta, there is a difference between these two colors: magenta is a basic color in the visible spectrum of light with a unique wavelength, whereas purple is a secondary color obtained by mixing red and blue. In other words, violet is a mixture of two basic colors (red and blue) and does not have a unique wavelength, but magenta does.

The use of the color purple is first encountered in the Neolithic Age. In the Pech Merle cave in France, purple-colored animal paintings dated to a time period between 16000 and 25000 were found using manganese and hematite powder.

It is known that the inhabitants of the ancient Phoenician cities of Sidon and Sur, located in present-day Lebanon, in the 15th century BC, obtained the purple color by using Murex, a type of shellfish, to dye fabrics. This color was also called Tyrian purple. Phoenicians' purple fabrics influenced the Ancient Greeks so much that Homer mentioned these fabrics in the Iliad and Virgil in Aeneis, and wearing purple fabric was defined as a sign of nobility, and the senators of the Roman Empire began to wear purple fabric.

Purple or violet is a color related to the need to escape from life practices to the fantasy world of life. Just like a dreamer running away from reality...

From the perspective of color psychology, the colors purple and violet promote harmony of mind and emotions. It contributes to mental balance and stability. The mind establishes a link between thought and activity, between the spiritual and physical worlds, through the influence of the color purple.

Purple supports meditation practices. The color purple or violet inspires unconditional and selfless love devoid of ego, promoting sensitivity and compassion.
