Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, is located in Dubai. Its design was inspired by the desert flower Hymenocalis. It is also an iconic project as the perfect application of the formatting systems used in Islamic architecture. This skyscraper is named after the Emir of the United Arab Emirates.

Burj Khalifa is the tallest skyscraper in the world, whose construction was completed on January 4, 2010, in Dubai. Its former name is Burc Dubai.

Burj Khalifa has a height of 828 meters and is a usable building with 160 floors. After the 150th floor of Burj Khalifa, the remaining floors were made of steel. This made it the first building in the world to continue with a steel construction on a reinforced concrete mass. In addition, none of the façades of the building were designed as flat in order to minimize the wind loads on the facades of Burj Khalifa. Its corners are not sharp, and they are made with circular joints.

When the construction of the Burj Khalifa was started, its name was Burj Dubai. The Emir of the United Arab Emirates, donated a significant amount for the construction to be completed as soon as possible. The company management also changed the name of the tower to Burj Khalifa as a gesture. Burj Khalifa, whose exterior was completed in September 2009, was officially opened in January 2010.

Burj Khalifa was built in reinforced concrete up to the 150th floor. The next floors were built with steel construction, taking into account the weather events. The building, which looks like a needle, does not have straight walls. The corners are not sharp but oval-shaped. It was built as a complex building, not for single use.

Next to Burj Khalifa is the Dubai Mall. Dubai Mall has the title of the world's largest shopping center and includes approximately 1,300 shops, ice skates, and a five-star hotel.
