Llamas are very hardy and strong animals. They can carry loads of up to 34 kilograms and walk about 32 kilometers a day with this load.

The predators of llamas are mountain lions and wild dogs. If attacked, male llamas will sound a warning so the rest of the pack can escape.

Llamas contribute much more than carrying to the human communities they live with. Their wool is used in weaving as rugs, ropes, and fabrics. In addition, their fertilizers are very productive. Even the Incas used the manure of the llamas in corn cultivation.
