About this app

The indyreads™ app provides New South Wales Public Library members with free access to a large collection of eBook & Audiobook titles. The app lets you read and listen to eBook and Audio titles on your smartphone or tablet, browse the collection, borrow items and place them on hold, download and return titles, as well as make notes, place bookmarks and more. The collection includes Australian independent published content, a selection of quality self-published material, titles in languages other than English as well as reference, modern literary, classic fiction and non-fiction titles.
Locally important digitised material from the local studies collections of participating NSW public libraries is also available. To access and loan titles you will need:
• A valid library card & PIN number (it's quick and easy
to join your local NSW public library)
• Internet access
To parents & legal guardians: we do not censor, remove or restrict titles that some customers may find offensive, and we do not label materials to indicate their content or coverage.

I have found this app to be really frustrating and glitchy. It constantly logs me out randomly, and half the time I try to log in again it comes up with an error message and won't let me. And unlike other library apps such as Libby, it won't launch the app without internet even if I have books downloaded. If I am going on a plane, for example, I have to open the app in advance and hope it doesn't log me out again while I'm out of range. When it works its great, but this really lets the app down.

Excellent selection of audiobooks, must be said The app however not so. Example, pressing on the chapter list button to see how many more to go, app reverts to some other chapter upon return and correction to the right point in the book just logs you off, that's my experience. Now it's telling me 'the title cannot be accessed while download is in progress' even thought the book has been downloaded and 75% read, infantile really. MARCH 24 Update Your latest update now crashes my phone Well done

Good morning. The behavior you describe may be a problem with one of our audiobook providers. We would need you to send an email to support@odilo.us describing the problem and indicating the audiobook in question so we could check it. Thanks.

Fine for ebooks. Audiobook makes the app crash so bad that my phone totally flips out, and I genuinely have a problem just getting it to power off. Also would be good if the app itself had a dark mode. I can set the background to dark for reading, but still have to go through the bright white menu first.
