It was a decent app but hasn't been updated in almost two years. Would like to see the ability to add photos of the item loaned

Adding a photo for an entry does not seem like a large feature, but I am not sure where to store the photos. What would happen if you move to a new phone? Right now the backup file is a very small XML file that can be easily copied to a new device. If you have an idea how this should be implemented, please open a feature request on GitLab.
