About this game

The ABC of Animals revision app class 1:
Every child can learn to read - with the “ABC of Animals App” and the syllable method this is guaranteed to happen. The ABC of Animals app offers a wealth of exercises for children aged 5 and over that deepen learning to read in a playful way and make it more effective.

The app is the ideal complement to the new editing products:
Item number 1407-90 and 1407-30 syllable primer and syllable primer compact and the associated workbooks (1407-91, 1407-31 and 1407-92)

The advantages:

The syllable method is a well-founded and proven concept: the colored hyphen separator helps all children learn to read right from the start. In the app, texts are therefore displayed in syllables:

The exercise “Primary texts to read along” in particular introduces children to independent reading.

1. The syllables are displayed - by "click"/tap - in the reading direction (from left to right). For many children, the reading direction is unclear, which can lead to difficulty reading. Through the syllable-by-syllable display, the reading direction is practiced and anchored in the children's perception.

2. The syllables can be seen and heard at the same time (with the sound on).

3. The children perceive the syllables as units both visually (written image), tactilely (the syllable appears at the touch of a finger) and acoustically (when the sound is switched on). The connection between spoken sound and written image becomes perceptible. This makes reading easier. At the same time, spelling is trained.

4. Each child determines their own reading pace.

5. Attention is focused on the currently appearing syllable.

6. The exercise can be repeated again and again.

7. The syllable display at the touch of a finger has a highly encouraging character and therefore motivates playful engagement with the text and the German language in general.

In addition to the reading texts, the app offers further exercises that cover the entire learning material of the first school year.

The tasks are explained in detail so that the children can practice on their own with the app - even if they can't read at the beginning.

The app’s exercise formats:
