About this app

Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) Warri is one of the parastatals of the State Ministry of Information, Asaba. The station was established in July 1991, and became autonomous in July, 2001, when two different managements were approved to run the two stations DBS Warri, and DBS, Asaba.

MISSION

To broadcast efficiently and effectively throughout Delta State and beyond; to attract and sustain maximum viewership/listenership; to foster co-existence amongst the different ethnic groups in Delta State and project Delta State and her people, in line with our motto: ‘Beaming signals of unity” for Radio and Television arm

VISION

To inform, educate and entertain using the concept of transmission and reception.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF DELTA BROADCATING SERVICE, WARRI

Delta Broadcasting Service, DBS, came into being when the defunct Bendel state was split into Delta and Edo states on August 27 1991 by former Military Head of state, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babaginda.

The first military administrator of the state was Group Captain Luke Ochulor (retired), and by virtue of the state creation, Delta Broadcasting Service Warri emerged from the former Bendel Broadcasting service, Benin City, which later became Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS).

The Television arm is called Delta Rainbow Television and transmits on channel 31 UHF.

However, the corporate name is DELTA BROADCASTING SERVICE, WARRI. It has over 200 staff strength.

BROADCAST FACILITIES:

Delta broadcasting service, Warri has its main office at NPA Edjeba Expressway, Warri.

This main office accommodates principal management staff and other staff. We have the following facilities:

Two 40 kilo watt UHF television Transmitter.

Two 20 kilo watt solid state Radio Transmitter [FM].

One outside broadcast van for Radio/TV Broadcast.

One 50 KVA Generator and 350 KVA Generator.

UPS of 80 KVA and 120 KVA for Radio and television respectively.

One 500 KVA PHCN Transformer.

Two staff canteens

Operational Vehicles

Very spacious land that could be utilized for event and occasions.
