About this app

Stars (stardom)

The free application "Stars (stardom)" is very friendly, it has a beautiful and simple interface. The best choice for a pocket dictionary that is always at hand. From which you can learn a lot of new and interesting things, for example, that:

Kappa Reticuli
Kappa Reticuli (κ Reticuli) is a binary star system in the southern constellation of Reticulum. It is visible to the naked eye, having a combined apparent visual magnitude of +4.71. Based upon an annual parallax shift of 46.12 mas as seen from Earth, it is located 71 light years from the Sun. Based upon its space velocity components, this star is a member of the Hyades supercluster of stars that share a common motion through space.

TW Hydrae
TW Hydrae is a T Tauri star approximately 196 light-years away in the constellation of Hydra. The star is the closest such star to the Solar System. TW Hydrae is about 80% of the mass of the Sun, but is only about 5-10 million years old. The star appears to be accreting from a face-on protoplanetary disk of dust and gas, which has been resolved in images from the ALMA observatory. TW Hydrae is accompanied by about twenty other low-mass stars with similar ages and spatial motions, comprising the "TW Hydrae association" or TWA, one of the closest regions of recent "fossil" star-formation to the Sun.

Beta Circini
Beta Circini, Latinized from β Circini, is an A-type main sequence star and is the second-brightest star in the constellation of Circinus. It has an apparent visual magnitude of approximately 4.069, which is bright enough to be viewed with the naked eye. Based upon an annual parallax shift of 35.17 mas as seen from the Earth, it is located about 93 light years from the Sun.
