🔶 🔷 Who is Sheikh Sayed Metwally Abdel-Al?
⬅️ The reader, Sheikh Sayed Metwally, was born in the village of Al-Fadadna, Faqus Center, Sharqia Governorate, on April 26, 1947 AD. He died on Thursday, July 16, 2015. He grew up in a family whose breadwinner worked in agriculture.
Sayed Metwally's father was looking to the sky, praying to God to grant him a son after the four daughters, so that he would be a man and a refuge for them after his death. The mother was longing for a son who would stand next to his four sisters after her departure. She prayed to God to bless her with a son to give him the ability to memorize the Holy Qur’an so that he would be one of the clergy and a servant of the Book of God Almighty. God responded to the parents’ requests and blessed them with a child to instill hope in their souls and instill tranquility and reassurance in their hearts.
Sheikh Sayed Metwally Abdel-Al continued to frequent Sheikha Maryam’s books until he completed memorizing the entire Qur’an when he was twelve years old.
⬅️ Sheikh Sayed Metwally Abdel-Al later obtained permission to succeed his teacher, Sheikh Al-Sawy, to become a reciter of the Qur’an and authorized for his village Al-Fadadna. After that, he became famous in the Sharqiya Governorate, and invitations poured in from all over the Sharqiya Governorate, and he began to invade other neighboring governorates to commemorate the funerals. He often read alongside famous radio reciters, such as Sheikh Mustafa Ismail, Sheikh Al-Banna, Sheikh Abdul Basit, Sheikh Hamdi Al-Zamil, and Sheikh Al-Saeed Abdul Samad Al-Zanati.
