The WABE Public Broadcasting App allows you to watch and listen to all of WABE’s programs, Radio and TV! The app provides On-Demand content of all your favorite TV and radio shows, live streaming of the radio channels, PBS Kids! content with parental controls, easy access to the live radio and TV program schedule plus the ability to explore additional content!
Live Radio Streaming
• DVR-like controls (pause, rewind, and fast forward). You can pause the live stream to have a conversation and pick up right where you left off! Or rewind to catch a comment you just missed.
• Listen to live streams from WABE even while traveling! Open the app and your favorite station starts playing – no matter where you are.
• Listen to WABE in the background while browsing the web or catching up on your emails!
On Demand
• Access WABE past radio and TV programs easily and quickly.

I listen to the live morning news with the app. Very frustrating when it stops playing in the middle of a news story due to a network hiccup. It generally never reconnects on it's own, and by the time I can get it playing again it usually forces me to listen to the startup sponsor ad again. After all that, the news story I was intently listening to is long over. Also, please add DARK MODE support to reduce battery usage and screen burn-in.

I love that WABE has its own app, but the app is very buggy still. I find that the app crashes frequently while using it, especially while listening live, which means I miss out on key points in news stories. Edited to add: 3 years after my initial review the app still has these problems. Recently the stream has become tinny, making it unpleasant to listen to. We are in search of another app to stream WABE through because we still appreciate the content despite the issues with their own app.

Love WABE. For the most part the app works great. The player could be a little more advanced. The only real bug, and it is a huge frustration, is that shows that are separated into parts like All Things Considered will not play all the way through without manually pressing play after each segment. This is very tedious and makes it impossible to listen passively. Please fix!! Thanks!
