Magic Card Trick

Our App isn’t technically a trick; it’s more of a prop to perform a very simple but powerful effect. It’s simple enough to be used by beginners or incorporated into routines by the most advanced conjurers.

The effect is simple:
1. The mark visits www.TheMagicTrick.net and selects a playing card from a standard deck of cards.
2. You are then able to mysteriously identify the card they chose.

To perform the trick you will need the following items:
A compatible Android device with internet access.
A second device or computer with internet access.


Performing the trick is simple
1. Visit www.themagictrick.net
2. Click and hold the top-hat logo on the webpage. After a couple of seconds, a code will appear.
(If you can't long-click, click the tiniest star on the hat logo)
3. Open the App on your phone and enter the code.
4. Select ‘simple’ or ‘dark’ mode.
5. Position the phone so you can see it but the mark cannot.
6. The mark clicks on a card.
7. The phone will identify the card selected.


Hints and Tips:

# Switch off the ringer on your phone!

# As with all good tricks, do not over do it. Repeating a trick will make it more obvious or give the mark more chances to catch you out.

# With the low contrast mode enabled you may wish to have the phone in plain sight and boldly predict what they have picked with a little misdirection.

# Ensure the line of sight to the phone is easy for you to view but difficult for the mark to see, a smaller viewing angle can be achieved by placing the phone next to something.

# Practice standing and performing the trick so the mark will not move and see the phone.

# As with all good tricks practice showmanship and spin a story round the effect so it’s more impressive.

# If people know that a phone is involved then the trick is simple to figure out – do not give away that a phone is used!
