Surah Al-Shu’ara is the twenty-sixth surah within the nineteenth part of the Holy Qur’an, and it is one of the Meccan surahs, and its name is taken from verse (224). It talks about the greatness of the Holy Qur’an, some signs of monotheism, and the attributes of God, Blessed and Exalted be He, as well as aspects of the stories of seven prophets. It also talks about unbelieving poets. The surah is considered one of the largest surahs of the Qur’an after Surat al-Baqarah in terms of the number of verses.

Among its well-known verses is the Almighty’s saying in verse (214): “And warn your nearest kindred.” There are many narrations about the virtue of reading it, including what was narrated on the authority of the Prophet (PBUH): Whoever reads Surah Al-Shu’ara will have ten rewards, equal to the number of those who believe in Noah and deny him, Hud, Shuaib, Salih and Ibrahim, peace be upon them, and the number of those who deny Jesus, peace be upon him, and believe in Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family. .
