Surah Al-Nur is the twenty-fourth surah within the eighteenth part of the Holy Qur’an, and it is one of the civil suras, and its name is taken from verse (35). She talks about the severe punishment of the adulterous woman and the adulterer, and about ways to avoid moral deterioration, etiquette, and the principles of raising children, as well as talking about monotheism, the principle, and the enemy.

ومن آياتها المشهورة قوله تعالى في الآية (35): ﴿اللهُ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ مَثَلُ نُورِهِ كَمِشْكَاةٍ فِيهَا مِصْبَاحٌ الْمِصْبَاحُ فِي زُجَاجَةٍ الزُّجَاجَةُ كَأَنَّهَا كَوْكَبٌ دُرِّيٌّ يُوقَدُ مِن شَجَرَةٍ مُّبَارَكَةٍ زَيْتُونَةٍ لّا شَرْقِيَّةٍ وَلا غَرْبِيَّةٍ يَكَادُ زَيْتُهَا يُضِيءُ وَلَوْ لَمْ تَمْسَسْهُ نَارٌ نُّورٌ عَلَى نُورٍ يَهْدِي اللهُ لِنُورِهِ whomsoever He wills, and Allah sets forth parables for mankind, and Allah is All-Knowing of all things.” And also the verses (11-26).

There are many narrations regarding the virtue of reciting it, including what was narrated on the authority of the Prophet (PBUH): Whoever recites Surat Al-Nur will be given ten rewards equal to the number of every believing man and woman in the past and in the future.
