I've been using QMusic for about 6 months. Obviously, I have a QNAP server installed on my home network. To give you a sense of scale, I have about 2000 artists, 1500 albums and more than 20K songs. Qmusic isn't exactly perfect but, it's by far the best option for playing my collection on my home theater. The UI is plenty fast and, I find it easy to search for music and play it. I've compared it to VLC, Plex, the native Sony (TV) DLNA player. Sound is excellent and response time is the best of the apps that I've tested. That said, I am looking forward to trying Roon. One of the coolest features is that I can use Qmusic to access my NAS collection over the Qnap cloud and, therefore can stream my collection to any Airplay or Chromecast compatible device I come across. I will tell you, that bar outside Atlantic city didn't like it when I started playing music from my collection on thier TV. I guess they should have locked down thier TV (ha). I am giving this one 5 Stars. Good job QNAP.! Please keep enhancing this one.

Simple Access to your library, not much else. Basic playlist capability, but nothing intuitive about it. Can't select a folder and "shuffle all", also can't expect it to sort your music by anything other than already established folders unless you do it manually. That's fun when your collection is huge. Also, constantly jitters after a little while of playing. Frustrating at best.

So frusterating - Open the app? Crashes half the time - broadcast to another device? Crash - swap from wifi to mobile or visa versa? Crash - search kinda works? Its super hit and miss and doesnt seem to follow any logical pattern of where or how it searches - No simple "randomize all" - No easy way to easily add a song to a playlist - App gives you access to your music and is just barely a music player. Dont try and use it as an everyday music player
