Občanský Zákoník (Civil Code (new) Czech Republic. Act No. 89/2012 Coll.) - is a set of uniform, systematized and organized legal norms and is the main legislative act that regulates civil relations between all entities in the Czech Republic. The Civil Code (to distinguish it from the previous Civil Code, also the new Civil Code) is a law that was adopted by the Parliament of the Czech Republic and promulgated in the Collection of Laws under number 89/2012 Coll. This Civil Code recodified Czech private law and replaced the previous Czechoslovak Civil Code of 1964 and other laws, including the Family Law or the Home Ownership Law (see repealing provisions below). It entered into force on 1 January 2014.
