CAA PPL refers to the Private Pilot License (PPL) issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in the United Kingdom. The CAA PPL is a certification that allows a person to fly a single-engine airplane for non-commercial purposes within UK airspace.
The CAA PPL allows the holder to fly single-engine airplanes with a maximum takeoff weight of 5,700 kg and carry passengers within UK airspace. However, certain restrictions apply, such as a prohibition on flying for hire or reward.
Once a person obtains a CAA PPL, they can also pursue additional training and ratings to enhance their skills and abilities as a pilot. This includes obtaining a Night Rating, Instrument Rating, Multi-Engine Rating, and other certifications that allow them to fly more complex aircraft and under more challenging conditions.
