Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy is a punishing climbing game, a homage to Jazzuo's 2002 B-Game classic 'Sexy Hiking'. You move the hammer with the mouse, and that's all there is. With practice, you'll be able to jump, swing, climb and fly. Great mysteries and a wonderful reward await the master hikers who reach the top of the mountain.
To quote Jazzuo himself: "The hiking action is very similar to way you would do it in real life, remember that and you will do well".
• Climb up an enormous mountain with nothing but a hammer and a pot. • Listen as I make philosophical observations about the problem at hand. • Between 2 and ∞ hours of agonizing gameplay, depending. The median time to finish for my playtesters was 5 hours, but the mean was closer to ∞. • Lose all your progress, over and over. • Feel new types of frustration you didn't know you were capable of.

the controls make the game practically unplayable. i know this game is supposed to be hard and i like challenge, but the lack of a visible digital joystick makes the movement unpredictable. there's no way to visualize the full range of motion of the character and if you are right handed good luck seing where your supposed to go. ive given the game a few tries and i always end up with pain in my hands. i wouldn't recommend

This game sucks, but I beat it. Some points in the game made me question both myself and the cold sweat on my hands and feet, after beating this game I don't feel any sort of reward or different, but just a relief knowing i am capable of falling and getting back up again despite every impossible and irritating challenge ahead of me. This game will never leave my mind. Great Game.

Here's the thing. I know this game is supposed make you rage. It's supposed to be hard. But it's not supposed to be glitchy. In the PC version, the controls are intuitive because there is a cursor for the hammer to follow. On mobile, the controls are a) very difficult because there is no cursor, b) the hammer sometimes gets a mind of its own and sends you flying when you're trying to make small adjustments, and c) dragging your finger across the screen takes away from its original simplicity.
