🔶🔷 Sheikh Muhammad Rifaat’s throat was afflicted in the year 1943. His “hiccups” interrupted his recitation, so he stopped reading, and caused a tumor in his throat that he believed was laryngeal cancer. He spent what he had on him until he became poor, but he did not extend his hand to anyone, and he even apologized for accepting... The amount that was collected in a subscription was “about fifty thousand pounds” for his treatment, even though he did not have the means to pay for the treatment. His famous answer was that the reciter of the Qur’an will not be insulted.
Sheikh Muhammad Rifaat passed away on May 9, 1950, and his dream was to be buried next to the Sayyida Nafisa Mosque.
