About this app

Prophetic Medicine is a book written by Sheikh Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, one of the scholars of the eighth century AH. He was born in Damascus in 1292 AD and died in 1350 AD. He accompanied Ibn Taymiyyah during the days of Ibn Taymiyyah. The book contains great benefits about the rules of medicine, benefits and rare scientific issues. Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah says: “So it was part of the guidance of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, to treat oneself and to enjoin it upon those of his family and friends who were afflicted with illness, but it was not from his guidance nor the guidance of his companions to use compound medicines called ((Aqrabadhin)). Rather, most of their medicines were in singletons, and they may have added To the singular is what helps him, or breaks his surah, and this is the majority of the medicine of nations of all races, from Arabs, Turks, and the people of the deserts as a whole, but it was concerned with the compounds of the Romans and Greeks, and most of the medicine of India is in the singular. Doctors have agreed that when it is possible to treat with food, it should not be changed to medicine. And whenever possible with the simple, it should not be changed to the complex. They said: Every disease that is able to be warded off with food and diet, no attempt is made to ward it off with medicines. They said: The doctor should not be fond of administering medicines, for if the medicine does not find a disease in the body that it resolves, or finds a disease that is not compatible with it, Or he found something that was compatible with him and its quantity or quality increased for him. He clung to health and played with it. The masters of experimentation are doctors who mostly treat themselves in vocabulary, and they are one of the three medical groups.
