1) Introduction to Moon Locating:

Moon Location finder predict moon location accurately for moon sighting. Run the app, set your location and see the moon in sky with you camera. The white arrows will show you the spot in sky that will have the moon. The app need magnetic field sensor of its operation. If you phone doesn’t have magnetic field sensor then this app will not work on your phone. The app will Insha'Allah track moon for sighting across various countries across the world.

This is a simple and accurate two-screen app with no extra scrolling and navigation. Just launch the app and start the main functionality.

2) How to use the app or software:

The first screen gets your location for GPS or Internet. After Location the app automatically take you to the moon view screen. If the app is unable to locate you app the user can manually set the location by typing the city name where he/she is and select the location from the list provided.

This app will help you in finding the new moon. App will show the exact location and then the users will focus on that position to see the moon. One can focus his/ her telescope to that location to easily sight crescent. The app use current time, date and location of your mobile phone too calculate the position. So you need to have your mobile time and date set correctly.

3) Moon Sighting or Hilal Sighting Importance in Islam and Quran:

In Muslim world for new Hijri month the moon sighting is mandatory. Moon sighting is performed at every twenty ninth of the Islamic months. If the crescent is sighted the next day is of new month else the next day is thirty of this month. Different Ruet-e-Hilal Committees and Muslims around the world try to sight the new moon, i.e., Hilal for different Islamic events and Hijri calendar updates.

The entire Islamic event, i.e., Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitar ( First Shawal), Eid-ul-Azha, Hajj, and Muharram etc. are based on Hijri islamic calendar. And Hijri calendar is based on moon sighting. Hijri calendar start form the date when prophet Muhammad traveled from Makka to Madina Saudi Arabia.

Moon sighting is an important work in Islam. This app will help its user in sighting the moon.

Very bare-bones and basic. Options to input location manually is quite limited - not all major cities are considered in every country (cough London UK) With what city was closest, generally the location of the moon was correct, but very featureless app, with some ads
