About this app

Do you like listening to music while you read?

Moodreads uses a complex algorithm to match any book up with the perfect music.

NEW!! We've recently added ISBN barcode scanner so now you can find your book using your camera!

How it works:

Just type the name of any book into the search bar and BAM! You instantly get a carefully selected playlist that perfectly fits the book you're reading.

For example, a horror novel will generate a spine-chilling and suspenseful soundtrack, while a romance novel will make you swoon with a dreamy playlist.

Add in the soothing sound of rain, a timer to turn the app off in 30 or 60 minutes, and you have the perfect distraction-free way to read and listen to music in perfect harmony.

Reading will never be the same again.

But wait... there's more!

You also have a book shelf where you can save a list of books you're currently reading, so you don't have to search for the same titles every time you open the app.

Features:
🎧 A continuously growing music streaming database.
☔ Rain sound effect option to play over top of the music.
🔉 Native chromecast support.
📷 ISBN scanner to find your books.
⏲ Timer to close app in 30 or 60 minutes.
💗 Bookshelf to save up to 9 favorite searches.
🎥 Movie composers' orignal music.
📖 Over a billion books. Goodreads and Google books API.

The music tracks on this app are credited to:
Steve Buick, Kevin Macleod, Scott Buckley, Uniq, Lucas King, Monst3r, Myuu, Nitral and Mk Red.

**This app is not an ebook reader so it does not contain any book to download or purchase.**

Got it on sale for free, was curious so tried it out. It's got some slick and intuitive interface. I tried it for Les Miserables, Harry Potter, and a foreign book. All were spot-on. I assume it uses tags from Goodreads? Very reliable, no ads as well. In addition to the lyric-less music, the app shows the piece's name/artist as a notif (which other apps can use for last.fm scrobbling) and has sleep timers + rain sounds. Absolutely perfect for my read, surprised this idea wasn't explored before.

Tried moodreads for the first time today after picking up a code from Reddit (Thanks btw!). I really like the interface, however the music kinda drifted off theme as I went on reading. I was reading "The DevOps Handbook" and suddenly the app started playing music which would be better accompanied by a thriller novella, whereas it started off on a relaxing theme at first. Also, it would be great if you could add an option to skip tracks back & forth. Pretty cool idea and nicely made!

Great application to go with reading. It gives non distracting music for a variety of titles. Noise cancelling headphones usually need something to play so they can do their work. This content works fine It would be nice though if it could react to Bluetooth commands from my headphones like pause or skip (particularly the pause) but is otherwise fine.

Thank you for your review! The music player does use the native player from device but it also depends on the android version used. Enjoy your reading!
