The KARVI application is a tool that helps parents and health professionals carry out an evaluation of the development of a baby under one year old.
-Neurodevelopment Screening-
KARVI Scale is a screening test for healthy children in their first year of life.
Screening tests determine the risks that babies have for
suffer from a disease, they are tools to determine if a baby is at risk of developing a certain disease, but - they are not considered tests
diagnostic or confirmatory.
KARVI is a test to evaluate the risk of probable neurodevelopmental delay and to evaluate the risk of later developing autism spectrum disorders in babies under one year of age.
Probable risk of developmental delay
*Delay in Neuro-development
*Risk of hearing problems
*Risk of visual problems
*Early data (risk alerts) of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
Directed
*Healthy babies
*Babies within their first year of life.
They exclude
*Premature patients
*Babies over 1 year old
*Patients with a perinatal history that causes asphyxiation or some type of delay in neurodevelopment or growth (weight or height).
*Patients with congenital or acquired diseases that lead to developmental delay (genetic, neurological, motor, endocrinological, etc.)
-SAVE ME-
Designed and divided by five activities:
*SENSITIVE (Propioceptive, Fine Motor)
*AUDITORY
*VISUAL
*EMOTIONAL (Socio-affective)
*MOTOR (Coarse Engine)
*ASSESSMENT
Application Method
It is carried out through a questionnaire-type evaluation.
The application method for evaluating neurodevelopment, hearing or visual problems is through the evaluation of two achievements for each of
the activities in the month and are graded as Achieved or Not Achieved (leaving a total of ten achievements for each month, with five activities evaluated).
The application method for developing risk assessment
later autism spectrum disorders (ASD) is when he
baby completes all or most of the monthly evaluations (on reaching one year of age), within the items of the monthly evaluations there are some classified as alerts, when evaluating the majority of them it gives us an evaluation of probable risk (low, intermediate or high).
-Growth Evaluation.-
Within the application, the history of
baby's growth and is graphed according to the percentiles recommended by the
world health organization (WHO) and notifies us if the baby is within the normal percentiles or if it is outside of them, it also shows us the nutritional status of the baby (low weight, normal, overweight or obesity) with the graph weight/height percentile.
