About this app

Migraine is invisible on an MRI but very visible on a diary.
According to headache specialists, the most useful tool for the treatment of migraines is a migraine diary. Start a diary today and be empowered!

The Canadian Migraine Tracker helps you to keep a simple and focused Migraine Diary directly from your smart phone or tablet. Available on Apple and Android, in English and French.

Here are five good reasons to keep a diary:
• Get a clear idea of your headache frequency and patterns
• Use the data to work with your health care provider
• Monitor the response to treatments (acute, preventive, behavioral)
• Observe triggers
• Watch medication overuse
• Bonus: detect menstrual migraine!
Less is more: simple, focused and designed to optimize your discussions with your health care provider

You can monitor what is important for you: headache frequency but also triggers, symptoms and medication response.

We built this tool to make communication with your health care provider (family doctor, neurologist, nurse practitioner, pharmacist etc) easier. The App focuses on the information usually discussed with physicians. Our reports can be sent to your health care provider in two convenient ways: PDF and email.

We hope that you will find this application convenient and easy to use! Please share comments and rate the Canadian Migraine Tracker.

CMT is simpler to use than Migraine Buddy. But it is often too unreliable & aggravating to use in a migraine, because it freezes, crashes, has connection issues, loading/saving issues, & errors in its summaries, plus it has no dark mode. Despite some customization options, it also seems to be designed around an assumption that there is no need for hourly tracks, durations, etc. That might be ideal for some users. But it isn't granular enough to track much about chronic daily migraines.

Thank you for your comment. A dark mode is on our wishlist. The app was designed by the top Canadian Headache Specialists who prefer not to have the exact timing of the attack. Often it does not change treatment. Everyone is different, please talk to your physician to see if this app is good for you. To report a bug: support@migrainetracker.ca

Can't enter what time you took medication. Who doesn't need to know that? It's also very slow, like it is syncing after each thing you enter instead of after you've finished an entry. I did like that I could turn off tracking for all the things I don't need to make it quicker and easier to use when I have a migraine, but without being able to track medication, it is of no use to me.

Thank you for your suggestion. We have added this to our new features request. Please discuss with your physician. Some physician don't need the exact time. Our goal is to keep this app very easy to use. You may also use the note section.

Does what it needs to do, in general. A couple small UI gripes but nothing major - except that I *REALLY* wish it had a dark mode. I want to fill out info on my attacks as they happen in case I forget any details later, but I get bad light sensitivity with migraines, and most of the app is blindingly white. You'd think that would be kind of a no-brainer when you're building an app specifically for people with migraines, but I guess not.
