The app works now! It had a bug this year where the Bluetooth connection would be lost on sleep, but the developers have fixed it now. Thanks! However, there is still an issue where the data isn't collected if the app is in the background (the chart logs a straight line until you go to the app — so the curve will have "steps" where the app wasn't in the foreground. However there is no issue if the phone sleeps while the app is in the foreground.)

I have been using this app for years and after the update it is horrible! If you leave the screen or let the screen time out it will disconnect and you have to start all over again. I have the newest version 10, and I keep getting messages saying the app has a bug and to contact the dev. I wish it would just work correctly! For the record I am a HVAC-R service professional.

We are aware of the issue and have released a new update to fix it. Please close out the app, clear app cache in your device settings, open google play store, find BluVac and update the app. That will install the latest version. 1.0.2. Please reach out to us at 954-227-0781 if you come across any issues. We are happy to help.

This app worked quite well for me in conjunction with the BluVac+ Micro micron gauge. The app is easy to use and it is super helpful to see a chart of the evacuation progress versus just a number on the gauge. It is also nice to be able to document the evacuation on a job. I have used it both on a Samsung A20 phone and a Samsung tablet with no issues. A few comments which might help others: ____1. Bluetooth Setup - It wasn't obvious to me how to put the BluVac+ Micro in Bluetooth discovery mode so that the app can communicate with it. It is in the manual, but is referred to as "turn the radio on and off" versus "put the device in discovery mode". Basically you just have to double click (quickly press twice) on the button with the Bluetooth symbol (and ruler) on the BlueVac+ Micro device. When you do this, you should see a flashing Bluetooth symbol on the LCD display indicating the device is in Bluetooth discovery mode (waiting to connect to the app). ____2. Bug Saving Results for Large Datasets - If you have a long evacuation record (about 2 hours or longer it seems) and save the record, then when you bring up the record in the future to review/share the plot, the chart does not plot. Everything else displays, but there is no line on the chart. This happened on both of my devices (tablet and phone) and consistently only on large datasets (long evacuation times). I think the plotting fails if it has more than a certain number of points or something. The work-around is to export the result to a CSV and plot the data yourself (in Excel or Google Sheets or something). Even though the curve doesn't display in these cases, it still gets exported to CSV just fine. ____3. Export to CSV - At first, I thought this feature wasn't working because when I selected "Export to CSV" while viewing saved results nothing happened. It turns out that this option will only work if you have some app installed on your device which accepts CSV files (I thought it would still export the CSV file but it doesn't). So all you have to do to get this to work is install Google Sheets or some other app which accepts CSV files and it will work fine. The "Export to CSV" option is a nice way to make your own plots in case you run into the bug described above in (2) or just want to add your own annotations to the chart.
