About this app

The community radio "Pocas Pulgas" was born more than 10 years ago to help guarantee the communication rights of our community.

Currently, Pocas Pulgas is more than a radio station. It has a double character: it is both as a digital medium for the production of radio, audiovisual and musical content, as well as a powerful pedagogical tool in our pedagogical political project. Space for meeting, recreation, expression and civic and labor training for young people and adults, it is an institutional space that interweaves all these edges and becomes a relevant factor in community life.
The problem that drives the emergence of community radio refers to the conditions of inequality observed in the access and production of cultural and symbolic goods in which the youth and adults of our community find themselves, generating a violation of their cultural and communication rights. . Hence, within the framework of a radio station that in its beginnings had a playful and educational nature, we developed various strategies and devices: training workshops in locution, radio operation, camera management, musical and audiovisual recording studio, grid of programs by networks and Streaming, etc. In order for young people and adults to be able to express their voice and their unique perspective on reality and produce content in various formats -written, visual, audiovisual, radio- so that they can creatively recount their experience in their own words.
