Ibn Manzoor stated in the introduction to his book that it is arranged according to the essential order of authenticity, as it is arranged according to the system: the last of the origins, so it begins first with the words the last of which is: (alif) and the first of which is (alif), such as: (aba) and so on until it ends. As for vowels, he singled them out in a chapter independent. The author first began by explaining the cut-off letters, then: (Chapter: Nicknames for letters, their natures, and their properties), then he proceeded to investigate the words.
