About this app

Light Awake uses pulsating light and carefully picked audio to gently rouse you from sleep. Its flashing light is designed to stimulate your circadian system and comfortably move your mind from slumber to consciousness. This is the only wake-up system that is based on the physiology of our eyes and brain.

Currently compatible with iOS devices, this patented technology is especially helpful for:
∙ Shift workers
∙ People with hearing loss
∙ Sleep partners with different schedules
∙ Families with light sleepers or small children
∙ Teenagers and college students
∙ Roommates in close quarters

Light Awake is based on how the brain responds to light. Our body produces melatonin, a hormone that regulates sleep, based on how much light it senses. It’s the same biological response that wakes up animals that are active during the day. Birds and dogs don’t need a piercing alarm and neither do humans! Learn more about the science of Light Awake: https://lightawake.biz/

***Note: Light Awake is a different kind of alarm clock***

To ensure proper alarm clock function, after you set your alarm, the screen will dim and go into sleep mode. It is important, if you use another app after you set your alarm, you disable/reset the alarm to ensure the sleep mode is initiated and the alarm goes off properly.

I'm hearing impaired and bought lightbulb as an alarm. I have the app on my phone and it is paired with my lamp. I can turn light on and off and choose colors. I can even set an alarm but it doesn't work. I noticed warning not to use other apps but I get texts and alerts on my phone. Does that disable the app because it hasn't worked for me all week! I have sent a text asking for help from developers but haven't heard back after four days! My dog does a better job!

The app works great. Gave it 4 star though. Am hearing impaired and could use a camera light flashing brightly. Also would like to add extra loud sounds but guess would have to depend on some one to wake me. After reinstalling the app and disabled my main clock. The app works great. Thank you. Although I still have some hearing would like the sounds play louder. Love reveille. Reminds me when I was in boot camp. Would live this sound louder. As well with other sounds such as a car alarm etc

Thank you for review! We will be offering custom audio for hearing impaired soon through our app store. For now the audio file subwoofer lullaby is at a frequency best heard by people with hearing impairment. Try it and let us know. We are updating and making the alarm clock better all the time, so let us know how we can improve it.

It's a great app, but the issue is that your display must remain on till the alarm time. Let's say l'm sleeping at 11pm, and the alarm is set for 6am, the phone's display would have to stay on for 7 hours!! The screen dimming may conserve battery, but the real issue is the potential screen burn-in that occurs with oled displays; it happens when there's a constant image on a screen for extended periods of time.
