Obbie Messakh is an old singer who was popular around the 80s through his song entitled Melody Memory.
He was born on Rote Island, East Nusa Tenggara in 1958. However, since childhood he lived and grew up in Jakarta.

He played a very important role in creating singers whose names later skyrocketed by performing songs he created. Nearly all of the artists he orbits sell over 400,000 CDs.

Obbie Messakh appeared on the national music scene in 1983. At that time, the national music market was controlled by JK Records, a record company owned by Judhi Kristiantho. Obbie was chosen by JK to become a songwriter with Panca, Maxi Mamiri, Wahyu OS and JK himself and Deddy Dores.

After the songs created by Obbie Messakh were liked by the public, he released his first solo album entitled YOU AND ME ONE.

His song, entitled Hati Yang Wounds, was banned by the Minister of Information, Harmoko, because he was considered too crybaby. Because of that, TVRI, as the only television station that existed at that time, no longer aired the song.

His career started to decline since then. Even though he was banned, he continued to work and tried to make songs with a cheerful tone and even pop dangdut.
