Quick Airport Weather

Quick, location-based access to nearby U.S. airport weather information, via the subscription-free U.S. National Weather Service Aviation Weather Center's METAR and TAF data feeds. AWC also provides METAR and TAF data for select international airports as well.

Users can also select from a variety of field information providers (SkyVector, Airnav, AOPA, FlightAware, FltPlan.com, SkyBrary), for convenient browser-based access to additional information about each airport beyond what the NWS/AWC provide.

Note: This application should NOT be used for primary flight planning purposes. Please leverage the official FAA-designated flight briefing resources like 1-800-WXBRIEF or your favorite flight bag software.

I developed this application for the Fall 2022 CS386P Android Programming course at UT Austin, the goal being to implement various tidbits from the course in a (hopefully!) useful final project. JSON data parsing, Recycler Views/adapters, navigation components, etc., all make an appearance.
