When is the night of Isra’ and Mi’raj 2024?
The Night Journey and Mi’raj is an event that took place at night in the year 621 AD, between the eleventh and twelfth years of the Prophet’s mission. Muslims consider it one of the miracles of the Prophet Muhammad, and one of the most prominent events in the history of the Islamic call. Muslims believe that God sent his Prophet Muhammad Ali al-Buraq with Gabriel at night from the Grand Mosque in Mecca, to Jerusalem. It was a journey that the Quraish tribe deplored taking place to the point that some of them started clapping and whistling in mockery, but the Prophet Muhammad insisted on confirming it and that he then moved from Jerusalem on a heavenly journey accompanied by Gabriel on an animal called Al-Buraq, or according to the Islamic expression, he was taken up to the highest assembly at Sidra Al-Muntaha, meaning to the farthest point. A place that can be reached in the sky and then returned on the same night, and Surat Al-Isra is named after the event, which opens with the saying: Glory be to Him who took His servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to the mosque. This is the Aqsa, which We have blessed around Him, that We may show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.

Within hours, the Islamic nation commemorates the Isra and Mi’raj, which is the miraculous night in which the Prophet Muhammad was taken from the Sacred House of God to the Holy House.

The Isra and Mi’raj are considered the greatest physical miracles that occurred with the Messenger Muhammad (PBUH), and the Isra is the night in which God Almighty took His Prophet from Mecca to Jerusalem, with his soul and body together, riding on an animal called Al-Buraq, in the company of Gabriel, peace be upon him, and there he prayed as an imam with the prophets.

As for the Ascension, it is what followed the journey of the Isra, from the Prophet Muhammad’s ascension to heaven, and he continued to ascend there until he reached the seventh heaven, and there he was raised to the Sidrat al-Muntaha and after that to the House.
