The State Electoral Institute is a public body, which enjoys autonomy in its operation and independence in its decisions, with its own legal personality and assets.
Its attributions are: organization, direction and monitoring of elections and other processes that require public consultation in the State and it is composed of a central body of higher hierarchy called the State Council and the district and municipal bodies.
