SABAL Nepal is a leading humanitarian and development organization working in the field of disaster risk reduction, WASH, governance, community development, livelihood, clean energy and climate change in Province 2, with its headquarter in Rajbiraj, Saptari, Branch office at Mirchaiya, Siraha, and field office in Khadak Municipality, Kalyanpur, Saptari. SABAL has over a decade of experience delivering emergency respond, crisis management, sanitation approaches and governance. Our responses focus on the needs of the most vulnerable populations, particularly, youth, adolescent, girls, women and people with special needs. WASH governance issue is at the heart of SABAL Nepal efforts because our experience shows that its gain can translate into benefits for the HHs, society, local government and SDG 2030. Essentially, SABAL Nepal’s humanitarian and development work is our commitment to help rebuild safer, stronger, effective, environment friendly places that people call home. Our programs to improve health and education, promote social justice, water, sanitation and hygiene, open up economic opportunities make communities more resilient and less vulnerable to the factors that causes poverty.


Over the years SABAL Nepal has worked in 21 RM/M in Saptari/ Siraha and reached more than half a million people around the districts in one way or other. Since 2006, Sabal Nepal is involved in WASH promotional activities. Sabal Nepal led the facilitation role in declaration of Kanchanpur VDC as the First ODF declared VDC in Saptari District and Sagarmatha Zone in 2014 A.D. as a successful implementation of WASH among all the 8 terai districts (former darkest districts in WASH sector). Sabal Nepal provided facilitation role in both sanitation social mobilization and technical backstopping support since 2012. In this process, SABAL Nepal has worked in partnership with many national/international organizations including UN agencies like UN-Habitat, UNICEF, UNDP, ICIMOD, Save the Children, SNV, Search for Common Ground, Helvetas, BMZ, VCA, WHH and so on.

Currently SABAL Nepal is implementing 8 projects under support of various donor agencies for the wellbeing of community people and boosting developmental work in Saptari, Siraha and Mahottari district.
