Honda “My Generator” smartphone application is for use only with Honda generators equipped with Bluetooth® technology. The application is able to do the following convenient functions:
• Remote start/stop:
Can start or stop the generator engine from a distance (remote starting requires electric start capability)
• Remote monitoring:
Displays power output level and remaining fuel level (fuel level is only for models that have a fuel sensor)

Upgraded to 1.3.3 and still have all the functions greyed out. I really regret buying the bluetooth version of this generator. I figured the remote stop feature would be more useful than the 10amp DC output, but the bluetooth capability has been a huge disappointment. Update: no it pairs fine. I paired it to 2 different phones. Problem is the controls are greyed out intermittently. Sometimes i can use remote shutoff but typically not. The issue is intermittent. Honda can do better so do it.

Let us try to help you further. Your generator cannot pair with multiple phones at the same time. We consider the possibility when you want A phone pair with the generator, perhaps B phone is grabbing the connection with the generator. Please turn off Bluetooth of B phone in that case and try to reconnect A phone.

MAKE SURE LOCATION IS ON. With location on, it paired up. Need to start the gen when you try to pair up. Revising to three stars. Worthless, won't pair through the app. Tried twenty times, have to enter the s/n every time, stop and start the generator each time. Can see the generator appear as EMA- in the phone's Bluetooth for 30 seconds. But could never get the app to pair up. Again Worthless!

A little buggy. After pairing by scanning the QR code, worked flawlessly for the first run, but the app struggled to show VA output or hours of run time after that. Tried clearing cache, but didn't work. Unpaired the generator from my Bluetooth menu, and then opened the app, app prompted me to pair, selected yes, re-paired instantly without needing to re-scan the QR code or restart the generator like the first time, and everything worked again. We'll see how it goes from here.
