Events in the novel escalate when Adham announces his project to establish a “university,” an educational institution that gives everyone the opportunity to learn, regardless of their social class. The nobles of Jartin oppose this project, and threaten a new revolution if Adham does not withdraw from it.

Adham decides to move forward with his project, and faces the revolution led by Ashraf Jartin. In the end, the general Jarten revolution triumphs, and equality is achieved for all residents of Jarten.
