Basic Law - GG (The Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany of May 23, 1949) - is the supreme law of Germany. This law defines the basic principles and laws of legislation, establishes the powers and duties of citizens and guarantees all rights. The Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany of May 23, 1949 (German Basic Law for short; generally abbreviated GG, more rarely GrundG) is the constitution of Germany. Entry into force: May 24, 1949. Entry into force of the last change: December 24, 2022 (Art. 2 G of December 19, 2022).
