Basic rules and gameplay:

1. Game setup: A standard deck of 52 cards is laid out face-up into eight columns. Four columns have seven cards each and the other four columns have six cards each. At the start of the game, there are also four empty "free cells" and four empty "foundation piles".

2. Objective: The goal is to move all the cards onto the foundation piles, sorted by suit in ascending order from Ace to King.

3. Movement rules:
3.1 Single card moves: Any exposed card (i.e., a card not covered by another card) can be moved. They can be moved to a free cell, onto the foundation piles, or onto another pile in the play area.
3.2 Multiple card moves: Within the play area, you can also move a sequence of cards. The sequence must be in descending order and of the same suit. The number of cards you can move at once is limited by the number of free cells and empty piles. The more free cells and empty piles you have, the more cards you can move at once.
3.3 Foundation piles: On the foundation piles, cards must be placed starting from Ace and in ascending order following the same suit (A,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,J,Q,K).
3.4 Free cells: A free cell can hold any one card at a time. You can move a card from a free cell to another place at any time.

4. Winning the game: The game is won when all cards are sorted by suit and in ascending order on the foundation piles.

5. Tips: Not all games of Freecell can be solved, but most can. Proper use of the free cells is key to winning. Be careful not to fill up the free cells too quickly. The more free cells available, the larger the sequence of cards you can move.
