The Bible, formerly the Holy Bible and Biblia, is the holy book of Christianity and Judaism (Old Testament), the canon, i.e. a collection of instructive texts. In the texts of the Bible, we look for and listen to God's speech and search for the right way to live as a person and as a community. In the Bible, people have written what they have seen, heard and believed.

The original Bible as a unified collection of books does not exist, but in the beginning there was a large number of different texts that have developed independently and were later canonized, i.e. joined as part of the Bible.
