About this app

NOTE: UnitedHealthcare® offers this wellness program to employers; it may be included with your health plan. Confirm your eligibility by checking with your company’s
HR representative.

It pays to take steps toward a healthier lifestyle.
Simply put, UnitedHealthcare MotionTM 1) gives you three daily walking goals and 2) rewards you financially for achieving them.

Our walking goals are designed to promote health and wellness. Reaching a high daily step count can be important, but there’s more to maximizing the health benefits of walking: Motion’s “FIT” goals are a prescription to move with Frequency, Intensity, and Tenacity every day.

Did you know that even a 1-hour workout may not be enough to reduce health risk factors if the majority of your day is spent sitting? We lose two hours of life for every hour we sit, Dr. James Levine, a professor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic, writes in his book “Get up!” Let Motion incent you to get up frequently for brief walks every day.

Money may be a good incentive.
UnitedHealthcare Motion gives you the opportunity to earn over $1,000 per plan year for out-of-pocket medical expenses by doing more of what you may already do: walk. You can earn for one, two, or all three goals each day. Earnings are deposited quarterly into an HRA or HSA, as applicable.

Absolutely horrible app. It no longer syncs with my Google fit. It won't even register and give me credit for logging in daily. It would also be nice to be able to sync with Strava. I used to have it sync with my Garmin watch, but I found that to be extremely inaccurate even though my watch was recording correctly. If you are going to have an app to help motivate us to get up off of the sofa then invest the money and have competent programmers write the app for you.

This app pretty often fails to register my "I" goals (3000 steps in 30 minutes) even when I've gotten well over 3000 in less than a half hour according to my Fitbit. I've lost many dollars over the last few years because of this issue. Also, the app usually doesn't sync with the Fitbit app on command, so I have a hard time tracking my progress on my FIT goals in real time. Overall just seems like a clunky app.

app ia great when it works, but more often than not the step count that the app shows is significsntly less than my tracker and tracker app indicate. this has resulted in not achieving ny goals more often than not, and the process to reconcile the issue through customer service can be a hassle. This has been an ongoing issue for years. I love the concept, but it is really frustrating when you are putting in all the work to achieve goals, just for the app to fail you.
