Cartilage, a connective tissue, cushions the ends of the bones and allows smooth movement of joints.The breakdown of cartilage causes the bones to rub against each other, causing pain, discomfort, stiffness and loss of joint movement. Breakdown of cartilage is medically termed as ‘osteoarthritis’
