About this app

Calculating an estimated charging time and a finished time of any electric vehicle based on a scheduled start time and a targeted charging level.

The calculation depends on many factors such as the EV’s battery size, the speed of the onboard charger, and the amount of power being supplied to the EV.

Getting start:
1. Add vehicle - Choose your vehicle model from the dropdown list or customize your own vehicle specification
2. Add charger - Choose your charger model from the dropdown list or customize your own charger specification

Using the calculator:
1. Select your vehicle model from the dropdown list
2. Select your charger from the dropdown list
3. Set power efficiency switch ON/OFF. By default, the % power efficiency was set at 90%. This can be customized between 90-100% in setting menu.
- ON = To calculate by using power efficiency in setting value
- OFF = To calculate with 100% power efficiency (0% loss)
4. Set up Start date and time
5. Set up charging level - By default the calculator is set to charge from 30-80% to ensure battery longevity, but this can be customized to your use case.

For customizing the calculations:
- Charging Power (kW)
The rate of charge is limited by either the charging supply of electricity or the vehicle’s onboard charger.
- Battery Size (kWh)
The vehicle’s battery size determines the EV’s range and are commonly upgradeable at the time of purchasing your EV. It is crucial to the calculation to select the correct battery size.
- Charge Level
Select the starting and target charge levels from 0 (empty battery) to 100 (full charge).

Note:
- The vehicle models and specifications provided in app database refers to Thailand specification. It may not represent all manufacturer models and variations, but it can be customized to your use case.
- We recommend to charge your EV up to 80% target charge level as charging speed may slow down significantly beyond this point.
- In order to have a more accurate estimate, power efficiency should be taken into account due to battery inefficiency in energy transfer and heat loss.
