About this app

Kakabé is spoken in the Fouta-Djalon region, in the center of the Republic of Guinea. The area where Kakabé is spoken is located between the three main towns of the region: Dalaba, Mamou and Dabola.
From a genetic point of view, the kakabé is classified in the mokolé group of the Mandé family.
According to estimates by the author of the dictionary (Sasha Vydrin), the number of Kakabe speakers is around 50,000.
This dictionary has been adapted for smartphones by Rémy Bonnet, LLACAN (UMR 8135 of the CNRS), Project Dream, Labex EFL, INALCO.
