The official Star Trek: Lower Decks idle game!
Finally, after yet another tedious duty roster, the Lower Decks crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos is ready to party at a Zebulon Sisters concert! Tendi's even more excited, as this'll be her first Chu Chu Dance! But first, they need to get through routine training exercises on the holodeck, which Boimler has been entrusted to organize. Boimler? With power? When has that ever been good?
Impatient to get to the dance, the crew try to end the simulation only to find the Cerritos’ computer has been hijacked by rogue AI Badgey. He’s locked them in the holodeck and deactivated all safety protocols – so now Boimler, Tendi, Rutherford and Mariner must work through Star Trek stories, both familiar and new, so they can return to the real world. But be careful – if they don’t succeed, they’ll die for real. And even worse: they’ll miss the party!

Fun game but ads nearly ruin it. I don't mind ads, especially the way they're set up in this game, except for the fact that they often crash the game. I've lost so much because the game crashes at the end of ads... It's disheartening to say the least. It's gotten worse over the last month. UPDATE: 3 months later and now it's ads are crashing and taking the game with it every 3rd or 4th ad. After the last crash, I went back in and the first ad crashed the game again. Stupid Top Heroes ad again..

My bias towards the series is probably boosting my review here. I love seeing the characters interact. The writing starts off rough but seems to get better. What really gets me is the constant ad injections and the constant "sales" trying to get micro transactions. I understand the app needs to make money, but having both ads and sales on screen nearly constantly is annoying. Also, have had a few ad crashes, but at the very least that doesn't seem to ruin any progress.

I love Lower Decks. I love the stories in this. But you can't progress within a reasonable timeliness without watching ads. It's not a good balance. Watching ads is about 40% of game play. Then after that it's watching timers and clicking them endlessly. Each level takes longer the higher you go. Sometimes you just have to watch a screen and press buttons over and over for hours at a time. Feels more like work than a game. After this weekend I'm done with this game.
