Reasons for revelation

The Holy Quran does not need a special reason for revelation. It is revealed for guidance and mercy. The jurisprudential rule says that the lesson is in the generality of the wording, not in the specificity of the reason. Although the rulings of the Holy Quran are general for every time and place, and are not special, the reasons for revelation are among the sciences that might help to understand what God intends with His words.
