About this app

The Dexcom Follow app is part of the Dexcom SHARE® system.

Use this app if your loved one is sharing data from their Dexcom CGM app. The Sharer will need to send an invitation to allow you to connect after you have installed the Follow app.

Dexcom Follow is the perfect companion to your loved one’s Dexcom CGM, connecting you to those nearest and dearest to you, even when they’re far away. Through secure wireless connections, Dexcom Follow allows you to view and follow the glucose levels, trends and data of your loved ones.

Whether you have a child who is in college, an elderly parent who lives in another state, or a spouse who is going on a business trip, Dexcom Follow is there to keep you connected and informed.

With Dexcom Follow, you can:
• Monitor your loved one’s glucose activity at school or across the country.
• Receive glucose information from up to 10 different Sharers – children, friends, or other loved ones.
• Respond quickly with the help of customizable glucose alerts and push notifications that can inform you when a Sharer’s glucose levels are outside the norm.

UPDATE- APRIL 12 2024: App keeps crashing. Always have to click to see if it's accurate or working at all. My phone suggested I put it into deep sleep mode so it stops messing my phone up. Hmm. DECEMBER 11 2023: It's as aggravating for not working the way it advertises as it is just good enough when it is working. Which means it can use plenty of improvement. I don't usually write reviews, but I'm over it.

Annoying that it has to sit constantly in my notifications pull-down, cluttering it up. But the worst part is that it's unreliable. Recently, on the app it is showing "No Data" while on the sensors Dexcom app it just says "Server Error". The Freestyle Libre was leaps and bounds better, but we were forced to switch because our insurance no longer covered the Libre.

When launching, the app warns it hasn't been tested on Android 14. And it's problems are concerning. Storage used balloons up to 7-9GB. But more importantly, the alerts I setup rarely work -- even when the app is set as high priority, which SHOULD ignore do-not-disturb. But even when DnD isn't on, the alerts are still unreliable. I've gotten high BG warnings for my best friend maybe 2-3 HOURS after they were first detected. And other times not at all. DO NOT RELY ON THIS APP TO ALERT YOU!
