About this app

Marco Mazzotta Marco Born in Livorno on 27 July 1960.
I live between Milan, Parma and Livorno. I started photography in the seventies.
A self-taught photographer since the days of analogue, I converted to digital over the years appreciating the fact that what I used to do at night in the darkroom I can now do in a few minutes in the clearroom. I define myself as a puppeteer of images, I love colour, but black and white is the favorite puppet that I play in the little theater in the square of my creative research. I have dedicated many of my shots to the underwater world and, in particular, to wrecks from every era that have a unique charm for me. Subsequently I obtained the patent of underwater photography instructor trying to transmit all my passion to my students. When I'm not photographing underwater, I still dedicate myself to filming the sea, but from the side we all know best, the one facing the sky. There is not only sea in my landscapes, other types of landscapes have their important share in the account of my shots. Nature and urbanisation, for example, with its many contradictory contrasts are part of my creative research, just as introducing people into these same landscapes and thus creating a story is one of the most recent attempts at interpreting the world that I have spin around. I also dedicate myself to portraiture in an attempt to interpret human landscapes that restore that unrepeatable unicum of which each of us is made. For me, the construction site of creativity must always be an open construction site.
