Gloriano Orvieto

Born in Trento in 1971. He graduated in technical drawing from the Industrial Institute in 1990. He worked in some architectural studios and in 1993 he specialized in the restoration of works of art, then working as a restorer for several years in which he acquired manual skills and familiarity with colors and pictorial materials…
So he began to paint, alternating tempera and acrylic.
Towards the end of 1995 he frequented the painters of the "La Fontana" art center of which he currently holds the position of vice president. In the spaces of the Trento headquarters he painted his first oil paintings, still lifes and various landscapes and under The careful vision of the president and esteemed painter Luigi Bevilacqua begins with the same group to exhibit in some collective exhibitions
In May 1996 he moved to Rimini where he attended a planning and design course... but in the meantime he continued to paint and also take part in some personal exhibitions....
The last months of the twentieth century saw him produce very prolifically, ranging from watercolor to oil, from acrylic to mixed media and for a period of time clay from which he produced several dozen vases and sculptures.
These are usually periods of great production, they last several months and ensure the artist not only quantity but also works of a certain quality which in 2002 led him to combine realist painting with abstract and informal painting...
In this way he produces a first series of abstracts rich in material experimentation and colors mixed in a lively and original way, drawing no inspiration other than his own innate instinctiveness.
All this will lead him to execute a series of abstract cycles in the years to come... In 2006 the cycle of large oil painted canvases, several of which were purchased by the municipality of Trento to furnish the new elementary school in Sopramonte (TN).
In 2010 the abstract cycle called Garage-art was performed entirely in the last months of the year in the home garage transformed for the occasion into an atelier…
In 2013 he dedicated himself to the recovery of materials...the result was some cycles of painting on jute bags which were recovered in coffee roasting factories...
Other pictorial cycles will then arrive such as in 2016 the "bubbles and circles" cycle, in 2018 the "Color geometries" cycle in 2021 the "Thread and string" cycle....
